The Department of Management Information Systems (MIS) at Tokat Gaziosmanpaşa University, Erbaa Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities was opened in 2018 with the establishment of the faculty. Within the scope of the department, there are three major science which are Information Technologies, Information Management, and Decision Sciences.
MIS is a contemporary field based on the relationships between individuals, groups, organizations, businesses, and technology. Individuals working as experts in this field contribute to efficiency and productivity in business life by designing information systems in innovative ways. As a result, MIS is defined as a people-oriented field that gives importance to service through technology.
Today, it has become an important necessity for businesses to benefit from information systems both in data collection and data processing periods and in all other administrative processes. In this context, MIS experts create information systems for data management and manage various information systems in order to meet the needs of managers, personnel, and customers more effectively and efficiently.
Students who graduate from the MIS department can carry out traditional professions, especially management and human resources, as well as take part in various contemporary professions. The main ones among these contemporary professions can be listed as Information Technology Consultant, Web Developer, Information Systems Manager, Search Engine Optimization Analyst, Business Intelligence Analyst, Network Administrator, Business Application Developer, System Analyst, Technical Support Specialist, Business Analyst, System Developer, and Enterprise Resource Planner.
Studies are carried out to start student admission to the MIS department as of the fall semester of the 2022-2023 academic year.
